The Able to Teach Homeschool Collective co-op is coming!

Hey, hey!

We are well into September and I’ve got some good news for you!

Last week, I was featured along with a few of my other homeschool mom friends for the part we play in the wonderful world of homeschooling. The truth is, the number of Black homeschoolers is growing! This is my family’s 9th year, and I can definitely attest to this fact. I’m loving all the beautiful Black and Brown faces I’ve seen as I move about the homeschool networks of which I’m a part. I’d love for you to check out the article on the Courier Post that highlights the rise of Black homeschooling families. You can find the article here. It was also run in several other publications so it’s very exciting!

I absolutely LOVED all the pics of the families that were featured. I’m proud to say that I personally know and love every family that was pictured and interviewed. Check out my own cute little family in these pics! This was so cool to me! In fact, a couple of the families were actually a part of the Able to Teach Homeschool Collective co-op last year! Here’s their awesome pics including the cover photo above that I used for this blog post:

After you read the article, I’d love for you to join me back here for some VERY important updates…

The Able to Teach Homeschool Collective co-op is coming!

We are gearing up for the second year of our hybrid co-op. This year, it will offer some new course offerings and in-person meet ups and field trips. Our first meet up is THIS Wednesday, 9/15, from 10am-1pm at Build Jake’s Place. Here’s the playground’s website if you’d like to know about this inclusive playground for children with all abilities.

I’m excited for the Able to Teach Homeschool Collective’s 2021/2022 co-op year!
For those of you who are brand new to the collective, here’s some background info and then you’ll find all the details you need about this year’s co-op.
Introduction/Background:
As an introduction, the Able to Teach Homeschool Collective exists to serve homeschooling families.
We get our name from 2 Timothy 2:24-25 which states, “A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth.”
It is the goal of this collective is to empower every homeschooler, parent, teacher or anyone else to know they are able to teach their children!
Able to Teach is also a distinctly Black and Christian led co-op community. Although every member is not Black or Christian. It is also not a requirement to be Black or Christian in order to join. All are welcome!
Lessons are created with a worldview that aligns with the Christian Bible. When applicable, some lessons will acknowledge, celebrate, and elevate the voices of Black and Brown people to celebrate their God-given dignity.
We welcome you to this new school year and what lies ahead!
